Indeed but still more than I’m willing to pay (4-5 times as much as the Lavri Grand) and to me the 16 strand Axios weave looks a lot better (can’t comment on the feel in hand and use as I have no experience with the Prion4)
I did indeed, though it has to be said that it made zero difference to the sound. Some headphones really seem to benefit from it, but the Shures didn't change one bit.
I have so many headphones! I seem to always come back to the Beyerdynamics. I have the Senn 800's, top-of-the-line AKG, which are way too bright (812 and the 712) I like the 712 better. The AKG 812 was very costly. I like Focal Clears, I have them and the Elegia. I use leather earpads on Elegia. The HiFi-man stuff has big QC issues. I don't buy their products anymore. Actually, they are junk in my opinion, alone with their audio. It's sad that they are still in business.
I like all the T-5's and the T-1's all generations. On the T-1 and 5 first and second Gens, I switched the pads to leather-which seems to darken them up a wee bit. The Third GEN. T-1 is dark enough with stock pads. I also like the Amiron wired and I also have the wireless which is a little brighter. I put leather pads on the Amiron wired too. I really feel Beyerdynamics has the best all-around cans. I just order the new DT 900proX. I am looking forward to trying them out. I understand they are well made and durable for traveling use. I also have the older T-70 and T-90. I again changed the pads to leather and it really tone down their brightness.
man the t1 with 600 ohm has such a huge sound stage... i always have to smile when i have the chance to listen to the 600 ohm version (when visiting friends). just before listen to some songs... i know that the 600 ohm will deliver the sound stage that is just... different - you know what i mean.
It's a great set of cans for sure. With a good amp and sound source, it really shines. I still use the T-1 First Gens with fixed cable with leather pads; it is a great sound I never get enough of!
