Hi,

I would like to know Sony X1060 can support "ATRAC Advance Lossless" audio format or not?

PS: for US Firmware version. (I heard that ATRAC support in Japan FW version)

Thanks

You must have missed the directive - Sony stopped supporting SonicStage and ATRAC about 2 or 3 years ago (if not more at this point) outside of Japan. So if you want ATRAC support, you'll have to get a Japanese player like I did, but be prepared: there is no English option for menus.

SonicStage V is actually good.

All Sony NW- series Walkmans for the past few years have been Japanese only. You should do homework. This is a very well known thing. I think the last Sony that supported ATRAC and English that came from Japan is probably 2 or 3 years ago. In fact, most Sony products NOT made for export (like cameras) have only Japanese menus in Japan with no option for anything else.

When I was in Japan in April I saw the X the first day it came out at the Sony store in Ginza. Immediately fell in love and was ready to buy, but just couldn't get past the menus. Even knowing a bit of Japanese it was still difficult to get around words that aren't used often like equalizer and things like that.

Although the adventurous type could probably get by. I'm sure the menu structure is very similar to the the English version.
