Sony Walkman Bean

I don't see the point.

I'd rather get a Sony flash player from one of the other 2 lines. And they aren't in the shape of a bean to boot

As ugly as this is, now that I see a size comparison to the Shuffle (from DAPReview.com) it at least seems like some segment might buy in. Maybe Sony isn't so good at "fun" design.

I can't quite fathom why this design has caused so much offence. Every DAP doesn't have to look like a box you know.

The same can be said for houses, cars, mobile phones, computers etc etc.

Of course. Offense might be a little strong (search old posts for the Shuffle introduction if you want that). Most just find it ugly perhaps not entirely because it's non-square. It's obviously designed to be playful and should be judged on that.

Like I mentioned about the Shuffle comparison, I think the Bean suffers at this point by photographic scale. I suspect once people see and hold it in person, they may warm. Curves may make more sensory sense. It will look less ugh kidney medical model-like and more cute jelly bean-like. Scale is probably quite a bit of the deal on this ugly or not design.
