Back at it again, still have not found proper headphones to do the job...wah...wah...waaahh...

Iv been looking at the titles headphones because they seem to be the best and affordable choice for my wallet. I mainly just listen to jazz, house, trance, breaks. But the twist is that I game a lot (CEVO + LAN CS) so was looking for a headphones that really just have a clear sound. I used to use steelseries (dont laugh at me) oldschool siberias, which had amazing sound perception and they were open ear, but they have gotten to old, and the mic on them totaly broke, so I am revamping.

So to make this simple, if anyone has any feedback on the two cans listed, would be awesome. If any further questions need to be asked to help carry me toward my new headphones purchase, ask away!

thanks

I've owned the V6 and still own the 141 mk2 which to the best of my knowledge is the same as the 142.  Both sound different.  To me the V6 sounded lean with not much bass but sparkly highs and good detail level.  Did not like them.  Sounded like some cheap earbuds with more detail - just kind of tinny sounding.  The K141s are midranged focused with what I could best describe as a 'full' sound - nice bass level with slightly toned down highs.  To my ears very musical and a good slightly less harsh alternative to a Grado.  The only thing that worries me is the gaming usage as the K141/2 does not have a very large soundstage.  Great for most music though and clarity is good if that is the main concern.  Very versatile with most genres including jazz.  I think its a great headphone and does nothing bad.

It depends what your priority is.  I'm not sure what would be great for both games and music.  Maybe someone else will know.  the AD700 is meant to be good for games but has pretty much zero bass which I found to be hopeless for all music listening.

Thanks for your input CM, dont let gaming really take the mind set over, yes hearing is key to winning, but hearing sound clearly and perfectly for music for me is a little bit more important. I also wanted to add that I used ATH m50s before, and infact I was super pissed after reading about them from so many people on here that thought they were some of the best headphones for starters and for audiophiles, and I HATED THEM

Have the k240S which has the same driver as the 141S, but different pads. Prefer it by a large margin for jazz and rock....mostly anything actually....over the v6. Very smooth mids....not bright and fatiguing like the sony.
