Not a bad price at all!

edit : wait is it 92,500 0r 99,900 ?

Good question!

Hmm, that first one looks like an upside down 6, so I`m calling it a 9, that second one looks like a distorted downside up 5 mixed with the letter S, so I`m going with a 2 at a stretch, the next one is difficult a sit resembles an upside 5-but its hard to make out being originally an Arabic character of some sort, I will take a plunge and name it 5, the next ones look like eyes but with no pupils, the not all seeing eyes, double nothings, snakes eyes without pupils-I just gonna make a new word and call them zeros methinks.
so thats 9...0...2...1....0..carry the 4, minus the 12 squared times the integer makes 92,500. Or it could be 99,900 If we add 7,400. I`m gonna round it off to 100,000.

I'd love to get this, but damn their poor choice for a balanced connection.

well Sonys grand idea is to offer a total Solution to many people knew to the Audio Phile scene, which means WE the already dedicated audiophiles, are not really the target market. Were just the incidental guyz, With reports of it being on the "warm" side the MDR Z7 that is, I have a feeling [and other have confirmed this] the MDR Z7 will shine GLORIOUSLY with it's partner the PHA 3, with other amps it might not be such a "glorious" thing.

Either way, the very best sound can be had if one purchases Sony's Flag Ship Combo. As it would seem the 2 have been designed around one another.

Sucks... I just sold my zx1 too... Lol... oops. I knew I'd regret that move.

You don't need it.  Sure, it has it's merits.  But if you're only using it as a digital transport, it would seem to be a bit of overkill...

I agree, I think there are cheaper digital transports out there. I liked the X5 my self honestly and it had Digital out. I'm sure as the PHA and MDR Z7 get into more peoples hands we will see which DAP work best as purely digital Transports

do u think it can drive audeze lc2 rev2,

Drive it, yes.  Drive it well?  Well, I'd rather use my HiFi-M8.  But, this is pure speculation considering there are no units out for public consumption...

I agree. The power specs indicate your M8 would do a better job with the LCD-2 rev.2.

Quoting my post from the previous page of this thread.

Audeze recommends a minimum of 1000 mW into the LCD-2, but I've had great results with the 15V-powered Meier Stepdance at about 500mW into the 50-Ohm load of my LCD-2 rev.1 (and with the CEntrance DACmini CX, with about 568mW into 50-Ohms).

My LCD-2 rev.1 scales beautifully to the 1817 mW into 50-Ohms of the OPPO HA-1, balanced out. So... When Audeze recommends a minimum of 1000 mW, they know what they're talking about.

The PHA-3 is rated at 320 mW into 32-Ohms or about 205 mW into 50-Ohms. But for your newer LCD-2, with a slightly higher impedance, it's worse still. The PHA-3 will only push about 146 mW into a 70-Ohm load.

Dynamics and bass control will not be what they could be using a more powerful amp with the LCD-2 rev2 - or a more efficient headphone (for which the PHA-3 was apparently designed).

Mike
(Feeling like a broken record, but the question was asked again...)
