I was wondering if anyone has compared a sony cd walkman to the ipod for sound quality? I am wanting a mp3 or cd player for my night stand (size is not an issue) and come acoss this one at Bestbuy.

I own the DNF430, and have owned iPods. IMO, the Sony is superior, especially with regular CDs as opposed to playing MP3 CDs.

The Sony has an LCD that displays Artist and Album/Song titles, so that comes in very handy. Battery life is very good as well playing MP3s.

Thanks man, I only use wav. or apple lossless files. I think I will give the sony a try when my amp arrives!!

i am working hard to recuperate my NW-HD5, im looking to replace the hard drive with a 32gb compact flash card,

The only thing is that I like to keep my cd's in their cases without any scratches on them. I might try to compare a cd player to my buddy's 80gb 5th gen.
