Not according to price japans email back to me.
 

Our warranty condition is clearly written on http://www.pricejapan.com/front/e_warranty.php, as below;
 
Warranty is valid only in Japan for 1 year. It is not valid in your country. 
International warranty or more than 1 year warranty will NOT be applied.
When machines need warrant repair, you should send machines to makers in Japan, via us.
Shipping cost of Item's round trip will be your burden

Sony UK 

 I have mailed them twice about ordering on their website and they still haven't read my email properly!! 
 
They've just answered again after another 48hr wait, that they can ring me and talk me through the online ordering process 

 when its their site that is faulty and wont allow the preorder (it does not btw)
 
I have alot of their kit and love it, but their support is dreadful in my experience!
 
I can ask them, but likely get a response like 'well yes, the weather is lovely today!'

Are you sure about that? I don't believe this device has an international warranty outside of the country which it has been purchased from.

Spoken to Sony and support lady said, Uk only warranty, not international. She also said the ZX1 was in stock

, so I called sales to order ....  

 sales said its not in stock and its European warranty only.. so Amazon DE ok, Japan no....

Edit: I've placed my pre order on the basis I can cancel up to the point of dispatch, 30 days to make sure I am happy and 6% back from quidco

Apart from running outta capacity, what issues did you have with your ZX1?

Oh I should clarify "issues" as in subjective preferences and not really bugs or defects etc.  I tried my best to like it as I really want a all-in-one solution for streaming apps like Spotify.  But just never like it enough to hold onto it.

you can get Accidental Damage & Warranty from Sony's UK insurers, it is exactly the same as the extended warranty offered by Sony-UK... pretty cheap, think mine works out at about £24 per year.

It's a sticker. Some prefer to remove it.
