I'm worried about the future life of the battery more then anything and how android can start to move clunky after a while. Any thoughts?

It's like any other OS, in my experience. Don't load it up with any apps you don't need on it as an audio player and there'd be little chance of it getting clunky on you. If I had it my way, I'd ensure there were no Google applications on my F807 whatsoever aside from Google Play. Less is more.

I really do not understand this battery thing. I have never had a battery failure on ANY DAP. I have had an Ipod Classic for...6 or 7 years have not changed the battery. By the time your ZX1 battery fails, we will be listening to music via neural implants.

On the UI, it is one of the best I have and an excellent android implementation, with almost no useless crap. So unless you install useless crap yourself, if will not become clunky.

Ok you were not kidding. Of course it supports FLAC. I have 123gb of it on mine. But for such questions, it is much simpler to check the specs of the player.

I typed in sony zx1 spec sheet into google and I directly found the verge page where it says , yes it can play FLAC, why wouldn't they support it ? even if they don't , its android based so you can switch up to another player app altogether

Yup, that's what I did. No problem whatsoever in the process. I will continue to look to PJ if I ever want to order any obscure Japanese gear that doesn't get released here...
