I've recently changed my tv/audio/entertainment set up and find myself finally taking advantage of bluetooth (Nvidia Shield) - I know its probably been discussed before but is the lag only experienced when using the ZX300 as a USB dac or is it also when using bluetooth to stream audio for movies? If so is there an exact timing to offset in the player to sync the audio/video?
Is this date verified? I've been expecting end of Q1 but haven't seen anything official. Can't wait to get a pair; I was disappointed when they got delayed but I'd rather Beyerdynamic wait than have a compromised release of their first mass market ANC phones.
The very first Walkman was released on 1 July 1979, so I kinda hope we get some news in two weeks.
I agree that Sony tends to go for announcements later in the year, but for anniversaries they have done so well in advance: The NW-ZX1 for the 35th anniversary was announced in September 2013, i.e. the year before the actual anniversary. The NWZ-X1000 for the 30th anniversary was announced in January 2009, with some relatively solid rumors leading up to that. Sony letting half of the 40th anniversary year pass without any hint so far seems rather unusual, though of course there are not many data points to clearly establish a trend.
Don't mind at all.. As long as functional-wise, it is up to date - has microsd slot, rechargeable built-in battery, can read mp3, wav, FLAC, DSD etc, has skip/repeat feature, 4.4mm balanced port, good EQ, DSEE-HX, etc.. Just like Nokia relaunching new version of their once-upon-a-time popular 3310..
Just to re-visit some old posts of mine, I did buy the line out cable for my DAP, as recommended by users here.
This morning I finally got my DAC from Singapore. First off, I bought this:
You can order it grom Amazon and it takes about a month to get. Sony Canada told me this cable did not exist.
Next, I bought this:
I bought this from Shenzhen Audio and it took 9 days from Sinapore to Nova Scotia, Canada. Landed for less than $300.00 in Canuck bucks.
Vinyl may have made a comeback but I think it's safe to say that cassettes are only for the nostalgic Guardians of the Galaxy fans.
I must say that apart from some hiss, I have an awesome sounding cassette rip of the first release from a local band from the early 90s.
Don’t suppose anyone’s got any experience of using their DAP plugged into a car’s USB?
I’ve got a new Audi, and it doesn’t recognise it as a playable music device. It tries to connect as an Android Smart Device, but just disconnects and reconnects all the time. Didn’t really want to rely on BT for the connection.
The only way to use the ZX300 in an Audi is to use Bluetooth. You could connect a USB drive to it and it would recognize the files and play them as long as they are in a supported format.
For my newer Audi's (Q7 and TT RS) I use a SD card with the same FLAC files that are on my Sony DAPs. You could also do this with a USB stick or a portable USB drive. On my A7 which doesn't support FLAC I connect my DAP via Bluetooth and it sounds so much better than using the a SD card with MP3 files.

I was hoping to get the most out of the quality of the tracks, and whilst the SD card slot shows up album art, the SQ isn’t anywhere near as good. BT it is then!
So, I got my ZX300, already have the Sony M12SB1 4.4 balanced cable and now I'm missing a proper IEM. I was going to buy the Sony XBA-N3AP today but I'm really torn at the moment if this would be the best bet.
My current home setup is Fostex HP-A3 + Philips Fidelio X2, I love 80s music, electronic, indie rock, acoustic, etc...
