Sony NW-ZX300

I just bought one zx300, I inserted a 400gb sansdisk ultra microsd card, it is seen by the player on device info but after scanning it says there are no songs. Also I can browse the card while connecting the dap to my smartphone via usb-c and see all folders and files. It has many flacs and some dsds. Any trick? Should I reformat with Sony dap and copy again or...?

Yep. Reformat within the zx300... I also add the tunes whilst still inside the dap too

Create a folder named "Music" and move all your music files under there. This will solve your problem.

I reformatted my disk on the player. But also you must create a root directory called "MUSIC" on the card The player only recognises music files in this directory and its subfolders (Why? it's Sony... :)

Put all your music into a folder called "MUSIC" at root level of the microSD; The Sony can read disks formatted as exFat.

as rightly advised by other members .. create folder named "music" and place all folder in it

works now, i only had to move all folders within 'music' :)
next i need to get a good 4.4mm ended cable because standard 3.5mm output is weak, using hifiman re2000 i only listen at max volume, clearly they are underused.

If you bought your DAP in Europe, or it came from an EU country, it's voltage limited. Flash firmware from a different region to unlock the potential.

aha, rockbox, ok, i used it for some old daps liks sansa clip and ipod classic. i'll give it a try, hopefully i won't brick it and it is reversible, on ipod classic it wasn't, on sansa clip i was able to choose between original os and rockbox.
edit: i found the exe, it's for changing sound limitations, not to install a new os, thanks.
