What's everyone's favorite pairing so far with the zx300? I've been in love with the Sony ex1000 for about a year now, and the zx300 just made that love stronger, but I'm interested in finding a new iem with a different presentation to be stable mates with the ex1000.

I love the XBA-Z5 (with the ZX300) - different from your ex1000. The new Sony range should be interesting.

I really like the Xelento on it, and the IMR R1, both in balanced. I'm using the blue filter on the R1

Regarding charging, right after full charge, it lasts for 7-8 hours with flacs volume 50-60 with sound all sound settings ON. Without sound settings - no need to charge for 2 days. But what funny is when I use DAC for my laptop or file transfer, it starts charging as usual. After it's finished full charging, if I take a gap may be 30 mins or play some songs of 10 -15mins, then if need to use DAC right again or file transfer, it starts charging again. But it will charge again for 1 hour or 2 . So why it never charges for fully 4-5 hours at once which is suggested officially by Sony, but it charges half 2 hours, although showing full charged!

Grabbed the ZX300 for my Campfire Andros and Atlas. Both running balanced. Mainly using it with the USB-DAC function to stream tidal from MacBook Pro. Anyone else notice connection problems via Tidal on Mac?

I have to open and close both the Tidal program, and USB-DAC mode of ZX300 numerous times before I get reliable playback. It'll keep connecting and disconnecting, and it's making me a tad crazy ha! I also can't use the Tidal "Exclusive mode", if I do, it'll never output sound to the ZX300. Frustrating.

Haven't quite figured out the proper method to recreate 100% reliable playback.. I purchased almost strictly to use as USB-DAC to stream Tidal, as the Andros pair pretty well via balanced etc - so hope I can get this dialed in.

If anyone else is noticing these issues, any suggestions?

have you downloaded the Audio driver from Sony downloads page?

Was under the impression Mac OS didn't require the Sony driver - only Windows. I'll look into it though.

Actually for me for the first time, it was saying on the ZX300 screen "cannot connect to DAC". But later it started working, as Win10 always downloads drivers automatically when any new hardware is plugged. Later I installed the audio driver from official Sony page just to make sure it works perfectly.

Does anyone know if it will take a long time to format a 32gb microSD card on the ZX300. It has been 10 minutes and it hasnt stopped? Perhaps my sd card is corrupted?

Is it doing a full format or a quick format?

ZX-300 doesn't has full format option. It only formats quick. Try restarting your device and try again, if doesn't work, then your SD card is wrong...

Cant even format it on a mac. The card is too corrupted

Wondering if I need to have my ZX300 replaced... connection issues are frustrating, and no exclusive mode with Tidal etc.

macOS never needs a driver for a USB DAC.

Only driver ever needed for mac was in fact coded by the late Steve Jobs himself, and works across both time infinite in both directions and in both parallel and nonparallel universes.
