I'm still having trouble with playlists. Luckily the names do show up now. Songs only show for a playlist I named "NEW" as the picture below shows. On my PC, using notepad, I was able to add songs to "NEW", but all the other playlists I created the songs don't show. What's strange is I'm using the same path with all playlists; for example; /Music/Bob Marley/Bob Marley Punky Reggae Party.mp3. These playlists and songs are all on my sd card. Even when I deleted "NEW", the other playlist still showed 0 songs. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Use the Sony software to create playlist?

I think playlists are a bit of an issue unless you create them on the Sony software. I have stuck with using the bookmarks for now, I had a couple of playlists I had created using Foobar for my previous ZX100 but I am unable to edit/add to them on the ZX300. I don't want to install the Sony software just for playlists and I have held off tinkering with the region setting to switch to Japanese to 'activate' the playlist feature - please let me know if you have success with creating playlists using alternative methods.

I recently upgraded my XBA-A3 to a used pair of XBA-Z5. I am really satisfied with the step up in quality - it has really enhanced my enjoyment of my ZX300 and all it's glorious sound qualities.
As I know I have hit the peak of my spending range, I have now been able to really focus on my enjoyment of music.

Lot of money at $249.00, plus tax. I saw a pic on Sony.ca and it has two connectors on each end. Where would the second connector go to on the ZX300? Or would you need a Y adapter?

I've created all my playlists with VLC on the computer. On the computer and the ZX300 I keep the same basic folder structure. Then I edit the path for each song to replace the computer path that is different from the ZX300 path and replace it with /MUSIC/.

Here is what It looks like on the computer when created:

#EXTINF:330,A Day in the Life - The Beatles
    /Volumes/Other Master/FLAC Master/B/Beatles, The/1967 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Deluxe Anniversary Edition [Hi-Res]/13 A Day in the Life.flac

and after editing for the ZX300:

#EXTINF:330,A Day in the Life - The Beatles
/MUSIC/B/Beatles, The/1967 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Deluxe Anniversary Edition [Hi-Res]/13 A Day in the Life.flac

Thanks, are you able to add tracks to the playlists on the ZX300?

Ok, good news is I now can consistently create, edit, and name playlists on notepad(PC). What's strange is my playlist folder on my SD card wasn't enough. The playlist folder on the root of the ZX300 was reading the playlist called "NEW.m3u". Copying the playlist from the root(Playlist) to the SD(Playlist) somehow worked. Once the ZX300 saw the playlist I could the delete the one on the root of the player. When I added playlists one at a time I started having success. Thank you to all who helped me.

I think you found the wrong Cable. Check the MUC-B20SB1, it’s Balanced via the 4.4 pentacon out in zx300, NW1A/1Z.
And yes, Kimber Kable are pretty pricey, but I heard most people said it’s the best upgrade for the Z7/Z1R.

You are correct. The one I was looking at was B20BL1, which is built like the balanced cable that came with the Z7's.

I can't find the one that you are referring to on the Canadian site. Maybe I'll check out the desktop site.
