Correct, british audio has been well know for years, i like tube amps for the reproduction of natual and ballad music

Anyway, found the first mod for the ZX300, as my chinese isn't good, don't bother asking me how good it is, and what has been done.

PW Audio are doing the same internal cable swap for the ZX300 as they're doing with the WM1A/Z now. I'm curious if the taobao seller is doing the same thing, or something different.

There is also a photo with change in capacitor, so it's not just solder or cables.

Also I'm not the type who can really distinguish the differences with a wire change:grin:.

You
Hi

I'm thinking about getting a ZX300. How hard is it to remove the volume cap on EU models?

Regards

Darren
Download one software, use CMD on your PC, should take about 30 seconds.

It's not called the one software, I mean you have to download a program, and to make it easy download the CMD as well, but not necessary.

do anyone know any good carrying case for the zx300 and 1 CIEM?
all i can find is this van nuys one: http://www.vannuys.co.jp/n_sony_walkman_zx300/type_b/index.html

I was looking at this one, it’s quite simple:

Another that looks promising:

There’s a bunch of others on Taobao and Tmall too, which is what Baopalls is using. Baopals, btw, is excellent for shopping in taobao - their service is great.

I ask a question, and Google the answer and then get insulted. Pretend you have never used Rockbox or owned a Sony DAP, before you call someone lazy. If this is what it is like to be part of the Sony community, I'm not interested.
Take it easy, he was just being funny, no harm.

Any way if you need step by step, I can pm you later on.

lol Sorry, didn't want to offend you but it's been 21st century for a while. If you write something like "sony zx300 remove volume cap" and it's literally the second link after the link to this thread and it states "This tool allows one to change the destination and sound pressure regulation settings of the Sony players ..." and if you open the link you get detailed instructions. I apologize if I incorrectly assumed that most people can do that

You just download the file scsitool-nwz-v19.exe and download in the same directory as the exe the bat file open_cmd_here.bat by clicking on the blue this .bat file on the same page. Connect your DAP to the PC.
Then you click on the open_cmd_here.bat and run it. Copy and paste in it scsitool-nwz-v19.exe H: dest_tool set U off
It's v19 of the exe file so I put 19 in it for you - you replace the H with the letter that shows in your computer - for instance if you go in My compute and the ZX300 show like D: or E: or J: or whatever you replace the H with that letter Same goes for the destination code I've put U for USA, but you can replace the U with any other code other from the table on the page that says there is no volume cap. So after you replace the H: (and optionally the U before off) you press enter and after the change is done you go to the settings of your zx300 and Reset the player and you're done
