Sony was saying that battery time with FLAC will be 24 hours. My ZX300 is playing since yesterday 21.00pm. So for now, after 12 hours straight, there is only one bar left on battery level.
I think that it will not reach the 24 hours.

that makes me a bit worried

    Volume level @100
Maybe the battery improves after several charging/discharging cycles.

Some settings may also have impact on battery life : EQ, DSEE HX,...

I will try next run with FLAC, Direct Sound et volume 75.

I have Bluetooth and NFC also turned off on mine. I also tend to turn mine fully off when not in use.

Do you turn ZX300 off between playing or is that 12hrs none stop? I'm also only at a volume of 55/120 balanced with my SE846's. No other setting (EQ etc)

I will do a test soon.

It's a non stop playing test (EQ and DSEE HX turned on, FLAC files only).
Playtime is just 14 hours right now.

I'm definitely going to buy a balanced cable because of all those positive returns from you guys.

    Going for the Null-audio one.

To be honest at 14hrs plus I'd be OK. Much better than 6-7 I got out of Mojo (or under 9 with Fiio X5III).

I bet volume plays a big part. Would expect the figure of 29hrs to be based on 50% volume with all DSP off.

How Fiio X7 II compare to Sony NW-ZX300 in SQ?
    Can't decide which to buy.

So, the message 'Low Battery' just appeared on the display after 15 hours of playback.

You didn't say if you had BT/NFC turned off ?

Lets just say, without sony's test procedures and settings, you will never get the same results, just be lucky if you get a differences of 10-20 %, look at it this way, Sony's DAP offers the best battery life on the market.

Some Cowon DAPs have been known to have performed really well re: battery.
I am worried because these numbers are based on listening on SE. I shudder to think if i will get 8 hrs from DSD balanced listening?

IEM, headphones, music files, bit rate, volume, normal/high gain, files running on internal/external memory, button pressing, DAP settings and player running on one file or two or more files all contribute to the battery life. in theory, just take the official battery life with some mark off.

with my ZX2 I get enough battery life for about 10 days, for my ZX300, it's about 5 days.
