The zx100 is noticeably superior sounding compared to the A35. I expect the same if not even more improvements across the board on the zx300 even over the zx100.

I would expect that also, just going by a couple of Japanese reports. Hopefully I will find out soon... I would have expected HK to get them even before the UK but alas I was wrong. I miss my audio buddy from the UK when I could get Sony stuff way faster than here. Who knows when we will get them here in the states. Ahh I see you're an oldtimer like me, joined in 2003. :)

We are in the same both. Despite having the 1Z, I am afraid to take it out and about much due to how expensive it is. Plus, the 1Z is too heavy for portable use.

Guys, need your opinion. Should I buy the zx300 next month or wait a couple of months and buy the wm1a? Thanks!

Haven't heard either but if the money isn't important to you, seems like mostly boils down to how much you value the smaller form factor, usb dac (and aptx?) of zx300.

Wm1a for sure

Only if you want something bigger/larger/No DAC function. A person on the WM1A thread indicated the audio quality was so close to his WM1A he's tending to use the ZX300 more even though he only bought the ZX300 initial for use at the Gym/Cycling etc.

Plus your assuming price will drop maybe in Black Friday sales (but maybe ZX300 will too).
Lowest I've seen it when on sale was ~ £750 while I already purchased a ZX300 at a discounted rate of £473.

Owned WM1Z and compared both WM1A and ZX300 a few days ago.

Don't think ZX300 can replace WM1A in terms of sound quality and signature.

ZX300 has narrower sound stage, bass not that detailed and tighten as WM1A. IMO WM1A have a punchy, clear sound signature which ZX300 isn't , which is a bit laid back and warm sounding DAP similar to WM1Z.

Btw, some say the silver and black ZX300 sounds a bit different, which silver one is brighter than the black.

I like the form factor if the zx300 better than the 1A. And yes the silver sounds brighter because it IS brighter.

lord help us.
The silver sounds brighter? How is that possible or are we using the same analogy as with 1A/Z?

That's completely bs, they are the same material and they cannot sound any different since they are the same thing. Even the copper on the wm1z makes very little difference itself.
