The rumours are pretty legit, Sony submitted documentation for a "digital media player" named NW-ZX2 to the FCC late October:

https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=555468&fcc_id=AK8NWZX2

The device appears to adopt a similar rounded edge aesthetic as seen on the PHA-3 and possibly slimmer than the ZX1.

and some games, alarm clock, calendar, camera, karaoke, 20 color themes for background, voice control and pokeman sticker, where amp should be.

Look you. Software and hardware are 2 different things. Also just because it isn't some retardently striped down device like ALL OF YOUR OTHER OPTIONS doesn't make it any less capable.

Besides that piece of junk you seem insistent on picturing isn't exactly a on trick pony yet has a following here of all places......./.

And I just bought a ZX1. Ach.
Would be interesting to see how this one turns out though, seeing as there's still that question of whether the ZX1 can really do 24bit/192kHz. I'm liking the ZX1 though, regardless.

CES 2015 is 6-9.1.2015, so something over a month of waiting. What is your guess on zx2? I would like to own premium Walkman, but im not willing to pay for things likes display, android and wifi. I want to pay for better sound, power output and battery life. Im quite sure that wont happen though. My guess is, that it will differ from zx1 only with bigger memory or sd slot and wifi and it will be sold for 500-600USD.

It will be better if this device change to use standard android device usb port + sd slot, and also with balanced amp build in.

And when the ZX-2 is launched, you'll all want a ZX-3. Meanwhile I'm enjoying my ZX-1 and eyeing a D-100 (plays native DSD) to complete the trilogy (with the A-10). The only problem with the D-100 is that it can't be used with IEMs - it's way too powerful.
