Sony NS-700V as good as 500V?

After I buy my amplifier (MG Head, SR Head, or both) it will be time to upgrade my source. The NS500V is highly recommended here but only the NS700V is available here. Does anyone know whether it is as good as the 500V or better?

Have you looked into phillips DVD963SA availability?

Yes, Joe, why don't you try the Philips dvd963sa. McGino, who is from HongKong, has one. I will only consider the 700 if the Philips is way out of your price range.
