Incredible that it happens that you have also the Hifiman!!!!!
Thanks a lot for the responses!!!!!!
So now for classical music if you had to choose between the Sony and Hifiman ?
Maybe Hifiman is better because NEVER fatiguing ? And a bit punchier?
Perhaps separation is better in Hifiman?
Strings maybe better in Hifiman?
Also Hifiman being an open back = more natural tone ?
I'll try to answer briefly
There are undoubtedly works that I hear only with
HE 400I or Z1R or HE-EV2
Z1R!!!! SUPERB IN EVERY THING BUT FOR THIS YOU MUST HAVE SUPERB CABL+AMP
E-V2 The separation is more amazing and soft
BUT Z1R IS RELY SUPERB IN THIS WIDE DEEP &HIGH FROM THE GERUND
HE-E-V2
They have the sound of their fast panache without burning the ear like the other HD800 for example OR Z1R IN A FEW
Depending on the year of production and depends on the specific HD800
Because I had 3 units each rang different from the other.
But you can never switch from E-V2 to 400I
Sounds not good at all
Need adjustment time.
But can be easily moved from HE-E-V2
To the Z1R easily or the opposite suddenly more air around everything but at the expense of something probably
Because there is a certain frequency that I do not feel comfortable with 3-4-10-11KHZ ?
Deep plowing .......
HE-EV2 does not have the same frequency disturbance !!!!
again not every recording. Z1R
Especially the DGG
For violins very very dependent on recording.
And I'll give you some examples
Violins in Tchikovsky serenade with
BPO
With Bochkov in a recording by Philips
Differ substantially from the violins recorded by
The same orchestra with Herbert von Karajan
At DGG
by a difference of approximately 10 years
Two different companies have two different halls
One in the other in the Philharmonic Hall
Sony and Hifiman ?
WOW................SONY MDR-Z1R
HE-EV2 IS MY LOVE FOR MUSIC!!!
Z1R FOR MY LOVE OF GOOD IN LIFE
Very need to remember
Because amplifiers and cables are a very important component
In the form of FULY BAL
The Z1R sounds really remarkable
but
A simple connection with the good cable
With a medium amplifier SO SO IT IS NOT Z1R AS I KNEW IT .
HE-EV2 has a clear advantage over the Z1R
Even without good amplification or good source sounds excellent
But connect IT to a quality cable and a quality amplifier WOW
I can not connect because of SPL restrictions
BAL less than 40 OHM NO....WAY
HE-EV2 are only 25 OHM
So only 6.3 uses
That sounds amazing anyway.
A little confusing, I know

I am wtikki am still enjoying my MER-Z1R , i was about to buy a phonitor 2 but instead purchased a sony DMP-Z1 abd ypgraded the cable of z1R to laveicables grans pure silverAre the Sony MDR-Z1R suitable for classical music ..
I hear mostly classic from Sony DGG DECCA. RCA
And I have the HD800
I like details and stage space ON HD800
Sony MDR-Z1R
The bass might possibly cover other parts of the orchestra ???
THANK YOU
