Hey i just bought the sony mdr-x05 on ebay for 75$ new.... what i want to know was it worth it? Have any of you guys used them before? Thanks

I auditioned them once and I liked what I heard.
Now don't get too excited - it's probably up there with the absolute most bassiest headphones on the planet and has a few flaws in it's sound presentation.
There are many genres which will sound absolutely awful on these - rock, classical, jazz, vocals..... basically almost anything acoustic because the bass over-powers and bleeds into the mid-range.
If however you love bass and have an affinity with all kinds of EDM, you should be more than happy with it, and can shove it in all your friends faces who wasted their money on over-priced beats headphones.
