What's up guys new to the forums. I'm looking for a cheap pair of headphones to use when watching movies and listening to music on my laptop. What do you guys think about the two? (MDR-V150s and MDR-X200s) And if you guys know any better headphones for under 30 please do share.

hmmz... this will be my first post ever.
I think the lack of enthusiasm to answer this post is due to the fact, there isn't going to be much of a difference between those two lower end headphones. I do have the mdr-v150, i find them sucky and a tad bit uncomfortable. However, from reading many posts from the forum, I will have to say your best bet will be getting the koss ksc75. They are clip ons that go for about $12, but the sound quality is comparably better to anything in its range. I'm currently away in Antigua and waiting for a friend to bring me a pair of these on friday. I myself cannot testify to how these clip ons truly are, but I've heard that they are great. In addition, many have also made modifications to further enhance the sound quality and fit. If you want, you can wait for me to try them out first

Get the MDR-X200 for the looks and the MDR-V150 for the strength. I have some V150's that I've sleep with on every night for 8 months now and they have held up perfectly. I had some older sony's like the x200 and they seemed better sound, but they weren't as sturdy as the 150's. Anyway, I'm sure these two have the same drivers. The bad news: when you turn either of these up they will distort, when better phones would do fine. Check out JVC HA-RX300 or 500 headphones too for cheap ones, reviews were good.

sorry but those two headphones suck. You are better off with some iems like the ex-300 sony's that you can find for 50 or less. Or then again some Koss porta pros.
