This headphone, built only on demand, is proposed on the web "http://nowelectronicx.biz/s/Sony_Home_Electronics", whereas a store in Paris ensures me that the MDR-R10 is not built anymore till 1999.

Could you say me who is the liar or if Sony doesn't sell it in Europe ?

Thanks for answers

To the best of my knowledge the MDR-R10s are built to order. But Sony IS still building them. My pair is of 2003 vintage, and very high serial number (relatively speaking). According to the place I bought them, they had ordered several pair at one time, and had to pay up front. They then waited a couple of months, while they were built. My guess is that all of those Amazon sites will take your money, order them from Sony, and then ship to you when they get them. Its a no loss proposition for them, since they never front any cash on their own.

Its funny really, I saw no interest from anyone, except Theme Gifts, in selling these, until that e-bay auction where a NOS set went for $4,500+. Since then, lots of folks seem to be interested in selling them.
