Hello,

I'm a first time poster. I was browsing ebay for Sony mdr 7506s and came across this. $35, free shipping, new in the box. It seems too good to be true. Is it?

The price does seem too good to be true, and the seller has very low feedback, but ya never know... I have heard of counterfeit units out there. Either way, you're protected by eBay and PayPal, so if you buy it and something goes wrong (like not receiving the item or getting a counterfeit one), you can get your money back.

1 feedback from HK... I would be amazed if those are legit and not counterfeit... 
 
as the previous poster states I guess buyer protection would cover you... but personally I think it is just going to be a hassle.   Come the holiday season it is likely these headphones will be on sale at amazon or other places for ~60ish dollars (last year that was the case at least), I think you'd be better off waiting for the sales.   The 7506's are often copied headphones.... Personally I wouldn't try to buy them on ebay as the risks of receiving counterfeit garbage is high. 
 
 
If you do decide to risks it, do be sure to look at the multiple fake spotting guides / video to confirm what you have actually received.

If you look for IE800's on eBay there're some that sell for $170, and needless to say, they're fake. I don't know why some people still sell fakes despite eBay's Buyer Protection, but then again, the buyer protection system is flawed and you'll waste time and energy if not money on buying them.
And yes, the 7506's are fake.
