Hello,

I am looking for the HI-RES headphones for audiophylic listening interesting for the very natural sound, with broad sound-stage, closed model resembling however effect of the open headphones: on the promotions I found Sony MDR-1A for a 99 e price which is double cheaper ATH-MSR7 which should be better both on sound and overall assembling quality. My question: might be MDR-1A considered as real opponent to ATH-MSR7 providing really natural sound for 24 ohm impedance?

Thanks!

I've heard both but the MDR-1A's sound escapes me at this point.  That said, the MSR7 does an excellent job.  Sounds fairly detailed and natural, unlike the M70X or the M50x.  Only thing that bugs me is the weird trim of the headphones...see: italicized times new roman font on headband in all caps.
