Probably will order a thinner cable in the future for 3.5mm termination to see how it goes.
Doesn’t your ear lobe feel absolutely gutted after a long session? That looks painful evenGot the kimber a while ago too. Better hook for my ears.

Not really, my canal is swallow so even short nozzle shove all the way into my ears, creating a seal.Doesn’t your ear lobe feel absolutely gutted after a long session? That looks painful even
I was planning to ask Satin Audio for a custom braided cable actually, tried some of them when I were in Vietnam and I think they are quite decentWe have a similar setup now man! lol
If you want a thinner cable.
Final Audio's SPC cable is quite a decent cable.
Here's one used at e-earphone.

How I wish I was in Japan man lol
It took me two months to realize that the Z1R's really appreciate a powerful source. Although I was very satisfied using them in my WM1A, with Mr. Walkman firmware, a few days ago I tried connecting them to a simple Shanling M2s paired via usb with the old model of the Xduoo 05 and the result is simply spectacular. The bass has more authority and presence (without being invasive) and the scene has been increased, without losing a pinch of clarity or extension in the highs.
Out of the DAP’s/sources I’ve got, my order of sound preferences with the Z1R are:
1. Sony DMP-Z1
2. Sony TA-ZH1ES
3. iBasso DX220 Max
4. AK Kann Alpha
5. Sony WM1Z (with Mr. Walkman FW)
6. Sony ZX507
7. Lotoo Paw S1
8. Sony A105
9. iPhone dongle
I’m about to pull the trigger on an AK SP2000 so I’ll report back on that pair up, but reading through the SP2K thread, lots of folks have mentioned it being an excellent match for Z1R.
Just noticed the looto paw s1 is actually a dongle although its ranked number 7.....the 6 above it are really high end!! How would you rate the difference in quality to lets say....the WM1Z? is it far in sound quality? Really planning to get a portable dongle for the z1r. so far looks like
1) looto paw s1 120mw balanced
2) ibasso dc04 195mw balanced
3) xduoo link 2 150mw unbalanced
if cost is not an issue, which would be recommended for the s1? Do the s1 really need that much power above 120mw? i heard the s1 only once through the apple dongle and it sounds awesome, but hadnt tried with any other sources yet
