For now I am trying the ss eartips from tia trio, cause they are super low profile. This way my ier-z1r sits the closest ever possible deeply in my ears.
The feeling is very different from lose sit to tight and secure feel.
Also can feel the metal coldiness on my ears now .

It seems that I have super hyper small ear canals and only ss eartips can pass deep. Will see how it goes.

I have to say ier-z1r sound is really amazing it wins over tia trio no contest ‍♂️

    Wm1z +SONY IER-Z1R vs Cayin n6ii +SONY IER-Z1R ? anyone could share any
    opinion? thanx
  3. Vitaly2017

    I did

Wm1z is still a winner but n6ii was maybe 10% behind on a01

    5% on amp t01

Ier-z1r has more boomy bass and less treble energy on n6ii vs wm1z.

While n6ii is super engaging and fun.
Wm1z won on nuances and fine sound presentation.
N6II has more microdetails emphasis while 1z is more on musicality smotheness and noble prestigious sound sig.

Cant beat 1z's nuances and sound character.

So if you want more bass slam and less treble then n6ii.

If you want the richest sound experience then 1z

    Hi everyone,

Did someone try the IER-Z1R with the Cowon Plenue 1 DAP?

I'm looking for an IEM that would work well with my Plenue 1, and I'm seriously considering the IER-Z1R, given both the great reviews it got and the fact that its impedance (40 ohms) is not as low as many very good IEMs (which makes them not a perfect match for the Plenue 1 and its 3 ohm output impedance)...

    Its very good.

The other variable to me would be the 1Z firmware used. It seems 3.02 can take the 1Z in a slightly less boomy direction?

do 3.5mm and 4.4mm make a very huge difference on IER-Z1R?

auditioned it with 1Z but unbalanced, i cant hear the subbass that used to hear before
  11. Vitaly2017

On 1z definitely go only for balanced. Huge difference on ier-z1r

Yeah I also think it's quite big and it'll protrude a lot. I am waiting for sony to release more minimalist and simple style.

While waiting I should just check out some gardening tool reviews, buying some for my garden.

Hmmm I am probably one of those who dont feel the difference in sound changes from 1 firmware to another.

But I am using the latest 3.02 and it sounds very good, my ier-z1r love it
