Here in the US, I just received an updated shipping date from Amazon... They've narrowed it down to Jan 9th to February 7th. The price is still $2299.

Folks, those who are interested in getting a real good price, keep an eye on Jaben store. I have seen sometimes almost 20% discount but they come and go very quickly. Their listed price is 7799 (Malaysian Ringgit) which is close to $1865 but you grab the discount when it shows, it will be closer to $1550-$1600.

I had purchased the 1Z from them at a great price ( and perfect shipping experience) and have also pre ordered the Z1R.

Sharing this as a satisfied customer. I have not other connection with them.

I guess that might be about as good as it gets in EU as the import VAT if one buys from somewhere like accessoryjack will be EUR 300+. Also people outside EU should start checking joybuy close ot the relase date as they were selling the M7 for $490 and the M9 for $890 until recently, so the Z1R might pop up at a banging deal.

Not sure if that comes across well from french but this release is feeling more and more like a “damp squib”.

Why hurry to bring half baked prototypes to select markets when the product isn’t even finalized?

This looks to me like a terrible strategies these days where information (and mis-information for that matter) moves so fast...

For me, net result from this PR event is that I will approach this product with a 10 foot pole.

If the Z1R is as good as people say it is, $1600 would be pretty game-changing.

I think the sound could be really great, but there's other factors to the total package. I have doubts about it fitting well and I think it will be uncomfortable for at 25% of the buyers. I also think that you can't use a phone like the LGV40 or iPhone to get decent sound. I think you will need a good portable DAC/amp, portable music player with good power, or a desktop setup to power these things to full potential. I'll wait for early adopters to give feedback if it can be worn for hours comfortably and how it sounds with the types of music that I listen to.

I was thinking about canceling my Noble Khan preorder for these instead since the wait until March is killing me. Well, looks like it's no different here and that's unfortunate. Accessoryjack in the use lists them for $1,699 now, on sale nonetheless, but "coming soon" obviously. I emailed them to ask if they knew when they would get them and they simply told me they're not released yet. Makes me question if that price would actually stick or not upon release and there's no way to preorder there.

Anyway, here's to hoping these match up to the hype and anticipation! My other gear is all Sony and would love nothing more to own these!
