As I mentioned in another thread, I picked up some Sony EX51's at Best Buy the other day. I have tried every pad and every position/depth in an attempt to make them sound decent. Yes yes, I know they have boomy bass and cutting highs and are horrible phones and I should have gotten the E2cs. Please hear me out.
The problem I am having here is that I can't seem to get them to have the "overpowering bass" they are billed as having them. They have a teeny little bit of bass drum punch, but that is it. They are NOTHING compared to my lowly KSC-55s, which within my (very) limited experience have a quite nice low end.
Is it possible that I have gotten a lemon? I know these arent the highest quality headphones out there but I at least expected them to have the "qualities" everyone rags on them for.
(In case you were wondering why I got them when I had KSC-55s already was that I would like a bit of isolation for walking in the halls at school etc etc and I had hoped that they would be at least close to the KSC-55s in quality.)
