Right now i'm thinkin about upgrading to something in the 30-80 or even 100 range if its worth it.
I'm looking at the d22 and d66 and v6.
I'm planning to run them out of my SlimX. I also have a cmoy but i don't think I'll need it for these phones.
I listen to rock, brit pop, and very little soundtracks and jazz.
How do these phones compare to each other and are there other 'phones in this price range that are good for me?

um... both are considered pretty decent for under $100. Search the forum & you will find a wealth of info on those headphones.

Design
V6=fully sealed, supraaural
D66=closed but not acoustically sealed (i.e. some sealing but not that much), circumaural

Portability
V6=backpack required but reasonably portable
D66=just about stuffable into a coat pocket

Comfort
V6=not that good for most ears. Made better by 'Beyer Pad Mod' for some.
66=good for most ears. Entire ear fits inside cups.

Compatibility
V6=good with virtually all portables
D66=good with virtually all portables

Ampability
V6=potential
D66=potential

Sound
V6=Excellent frequency range, good musical balance, clear treble, very good bass kick and extension without too much flab (there is some) but weak mids and very poor soundstage (sense of space, adds realism to performances).
D66=Good frequency range, good musical balance, clear treble, good bass kick and extension, gives the general impression of bass rather than the kicks...but still good, good mids and very good soundstage given the tiny size. Definitely better than the 7506 in a low noise environment unless you like thundering bass.

I think it comes down to sound quality and portability versus isolation. If you need isolation more, get the 7506/V6. If you want best sound and don't travel in noisy places, get the D66... Which is also a lot smaller.
