Does anyone have any info at all about the Sony DVP-NS415? It plays CD, DVD, MP3, and is really cheap, I can get it for about $210 CDN, which is less than $140 US. I'm seriously considering buying it, but I'm hoping to hear some comments or opinions (even second hand opinions) on the sound quality, etc. of the 415.

Everything I dug up when looking for my source a couple weeks ago indicated that the NS415 (and the other NSX15 models) do not sound as good as their vaunted cousin, the NS500V.

If you're looking for something that gives you SACD, DVD, and MP3 in addition to Redbook, it's probably not a bad deal. But if you really only want CD playback, or even just Redbook and SACD, there are better options.

Like what, in the same pricerange? Another thing, is there anything comparable to the NS500v that doesn't play specialized audio formats(I doubt I will ever use anything but CD, MP3, or DVD)? Tight budget makes me hesitant to buy it when SA-CD capability increases the price. Lastly, the best price I can find on hte NS500v is $110. Do you know of any better deals on it?

I assume the $110 is US. If so, grab it--that's a good deal. If it's CDN, that would put it well under $100 US, right? If so, run, don't walk, and scoop it up.

While you're at it, pick up some of the 'Stones SACDs; you'll really be in for a great experience.

Well... since the $110 deal for the DVP-NS500V is no longer available, i ordered this unit for $146.00 delivered from mediasource1. Unfortunately they are on the other side of the US so i wont be receiving it for a week.
