DBB = Dynamic Bass Boost

First introduced into portables on Sony's WM-501 Walkman (circa 1987). At that time Sony's also introduced a series of earbuds with the so-called "twin-turbo acoustic circuitry" with model numbers 414, 424, 444, 454 (which came with the WM-501) and 464 (with amorphous saphire diapharm). About a year later they introduced what I think was their best bud ever (even compared to their offerings today), the MDR-E484 with amorphous diamond diapharm.

Also, it appears that the MDR-E484 drivers were put into the MDR-A21 Vites

The MDR-A21 was stock on the top end Sony Discmans in the early 90's. I have a pair that came with my D-303 and I know they came with the D-515.

I actually haven't tried them yet but I might as well give them a shot since they are sitting in my drawer.
