I just bought a japaneese model of the Sony D-EJ985 cd player used off of ebay. I have a couple of problems. First off, the player does not like to stay closed, if I figid with it for a little while it will stay closed, but not very securly. Second off the jog-remote wire is damaged(a lot of crackling and 1 channel playback at times). The seller claimed that he got it in japan 3 months ago. If that is true would there still be a warranty so I could have this player serviced at sony. Was advertised as mint, I just contacted the seller earlier today and haven't received a response but find it hard to believe that he had no knowledge of the problems. If anyone knows if sony is good about doing repairs on stuff without receipts and boxes, let me know.
