Is there any way to get the backlight on the D-303 to turn off while on AC power? I have it on all the time and I'm afraid to burn out the lamp. Or am I just being paranoid here. Spent a good chunk of change on it and I'd like to sell it later in good condition.
I don't think there is a way to manually turn off the backlight while the unit is on AC power. I wouldn't worry about the backlight burning out from being constantly on while unit is being used as I've never heard of anyone experiencing this. The led backlight will probably outlast the PCDP even with it being constantly on.
These backlights are typically LEDs which should last a long time. They can fail like anything else but the lifetime of a LED is much better than a typical incandescent lamp (which tend to not like the on/off cycles).
