Can someone tell me the Radio Shack item number, spec's and price for the power supply that works best with the D-25S. I assume that the D-25S does not need the battery installed for the unit to work with the power supply, is that correct?

Is the RS power supply the best bet for this unit or are there others that are available to order online that makes better sense? Spec's say 9V, 600ma or higher. Whats the optimal milliamps that works best?
Thanks for your help

#273-1900

Looks like it's down to $20 with a coupon. At the 9v setting, it's 660 mAh. It has worked well for me so far. For about the same price as Radio Shack sells their 1600 mAh AA's you can get some 2100 mAh batteries from Thomas-distributing.com.

EDIT: No, it doesn't need the internal battery installed at the same time.

I use this one, be sure to get AdaptaPlug "M" and observe the correct polarity. $15 at RatShack...

Oh, you didn't really say if you wanted portable power or just a wall wart... If you will never use it portably, save $5 and get what HighwayStar recommended. The one I have will act as a wall wart and it will run off 4AA's portably.

You're using that as an outboard battery pack ? Outstanding ! What kind of runtime do you get ?

I haven't timed it, but I'm guessing 3-4 hours. I have a two sets of rechargeable AA's, but you could always use alkalines if you ran out. If you want to try it, you should get it now while it's on sale; I paid $40 about a month ago.
