Anyone know where I can get one of ATRAC3PLUS players with a line out?
I am in the US, so the versions that we get have no line outs, which sucks.

Actually, The_Master, Sony offers several different ATRAC3 CD Walkman players in the USA. Of those, there are two distinct models that have a separate line out: the (expensive) D-NE1 ($200) and the much cheaper D-NE710 ($100)/D-NE718CK ($120). The still cheaper models - the D-NF610 ($90), the D-NE518CK ($80)/D-NE510 ($70) and the D-NE509 ($60) - have no line out at all.

Unless you really need an optical out (and not just a line out), I'd recommend the D-NE710/D-NE718CK over the D-NE1.

Out of the players that you've mentioned, can you make any comments about the sound quality of those players?

I have not listened to those particular Sony players, but since they all have the "improved sound" (my words) headphone output, expect them to sound better than most PCDPs made in the past two years, especially in Redbook audio CD playback.

By the way, I needed a line out for my amp.
I've heard that the quality is not as good coming straight from the headphone out to the amp to headphone.
