Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

Please give us an example. I tryed tons of chi-fi stuff, never could reach the good old MH750
KZ DQ6 at that mark is a great choice. And as mentioned by @baskingshark Tanya and BL03 too are better options in that price range. And if you aren't just limited to single DDs, then there are hybrids like CCA CSN, TRN TA1 that can give MH750 a run for its money at that price point

Plus, you don't have to bother about fakes and all of them come with a detachable cable, which IMO is a huge plus as you don't have to bin an IEM for a cable failure.

Still can't find sub bass like the mh750/755 anywhere for less than $20, or can you?
KZ EDX with a damper like foam/cotton inside eartips easily trumps my MH750 and MH1 if sub-bass is compared. Also, it tames treble spikes without compromising in terms of details. All for $6.

Yes! „Optimal GSM“ (seller on german Amazon) is still selling original 750s in the WHITE version. The model number changed from 0500 to 0501. soundcheck and feeling is 100% real. Here two pictures, old and new model, both originals, both angled jack:

So I recently bought another set of MDR-EX15AP (last one had a -3 dB volume imbalance) and I thought it was pretty good but it needed EQ (yes, ever since I started playing with EQ's I'm obsessed with it lol, it's just fun).

And apparently, it's as easy as finding a raw FR measurment and more or less inverting it and voila, way better sound.

I'm seriously impressed.

I use the ex15 since many years. Its my daily driver in the car (use as headset and to direct my iphone). It has a good sound, but I never tryed to EQ it.

I use an iphone 6s. Which app/eq would you advise?
Well firstly, they'll draw more power with EQ (because pre-amp) so o hope the phone has enough juice. Is Neutron Music player available on iOS?

It is, but I have to spend 8,99€ for it 🙈
Yeah 😬.

Do you access to some other parametric EQ?

Also, if anyone stumbles upon this thread and post and has the EX15 here's a Wavelet AutoEQ preset I made for it.

Thinking about buying a load of new mh750 for my friends, is there anyone besides Wei that sells the straight jack version: (aka the newer model) https://www.ebay.com/itm/294078553375?hash=item4478729d1f:g:QjQAAOSwnOZevIL2

I have some from him, but the volume in one of the earbuds became dimmer over 6 months.

That happened to one of my Mh750 but I think it was just moisture because after a few days it was fine.. Make sure your ears are nice and dry before inserting earphones..
