I can't transfer any video onto the Sony DAP.

I refuse to dl WM11, so I click and drag all my files onto the DAP.

When I drag a video file, the DAP responds with "this file is not supported.

According to manual, the DAP supports MP4. So, I dragged some MP4 files onto the dap. "not supported.."

I then checked what file the included Spider Man 3 demo format type is. It is h264 something.

I downloaded like 4 different video converters: PSP 9, Anyvideoformat and some others I can't recall right now. I converted various videos to mp4 and h264 with as low res and bit rate as possible. Still, these files are not supported.

I already filled up the 8gb DAP with VBR lossless MP3s. So, I won't have any more room for videos. However, it peeves me that I can't get the video to work on the Sony.

Anyone else got the video to work? Please share.

Thanks in advance.

hmm... can't recall exactly... different converters different files.. but they were in the range of (400-700)x(400x250) res and 600-1000 kps.

I will give it a try after I get home. But, I think I used that res already.

The conversion program I have used is Videora for the Ipod. It has, for the most part, worked smashingly in converting formats. Not sure if it can convert the same format into itself, but I just thought I would mention it. It's what I use for my sony.

I dled videora and got it to convert some files to exactly what the Spiderman 3 file is ... AVC1 h264 320x240 yet the file still can't be dragged and dropped onto the Sony... "not supported"... I suppose I am video conversion cursed.

two mins later...

OK I copied the Spiderman 3 demo onto my desktop. Then, I dragged it back onto the Sony under a new file in "Video" and it won't transfer "not supported"... perhaps I got a lemon?
