Sony 1000x mark ii - huzzah!

Changing my mind a little on these.

Using normal streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, gpm) I think these actually sound better on an iPhone vs a droid.

I think the reason is that on android the in app I.e. on headphone eq is only available in connection priority mode which imo is pointless as it always chooses sbc whereas on iOS it works across all modes. On device eq is terrible on android (imo) so losing the on-headphone eq is actually a big deal.

Got mine today. Tried with Sony A17 (LDAC), ZX2 (LDAC & Wired) and Note8 (AptX) with ANC off. I've had Audio Technica NC headphones and they were terrible wired. The 1000XM2 is very good wired. The ZX2 & Note8 sounded just as good as wired. The A17 with LDAC was thin and disappointing. I have a ZX300 coming later this week an I can't wait to try with 1000XM2.

Currently using my 1000XM2's with the Galaxy S9+ I just got today using LDAC. Sounds crazy good. Much better clarity than with the iPhone using aac.

I completely agree. I just picked up the S9. I used Pi player initially, which sounded very good. But the Sony LDAC is a touch smoother but still very detailed. These headphones sound so good especially when you can play FLAC thru android.

So, you like the Bose better?
Actually, the Sony sounds slightly better. They're not my main listening cans (I have Sony MDR-1A with Meze 99 pads, and Meze 99 Neo for that) though. I wanted to see if their NR was better and it's very close between them. Since I only needed one pair, with a suggestion from my wife, I figured I could sell a brand new pair for more than a pair I've had over a year now. I really was surprised how well they reduce noise, I had thought the Bose were the best. I would only be using them in noisy situations, I'd rather go wired for any normal / portable listens.

I've been using my Samsung S9+ on 12/03 with my old but still solid Sony MDR-1RBTMk2.
It sounding absolutely great since my Note5, S7 Edge S8+, Note8 and now S9+
Now I'm wondering how will 1000XM2 sound like when comparing to 1RBTMK2.
Do you happen to have both them comparing? If yes, which one sound better beside ANC?

I've never heard the other headphones you mentioned.

Using the LDAC option at the highest bitrate and some slight EQ these things sound really really good. Even at home I've been using these over my HD650.

Here is the EQ I've been using.

Hi I'm considering buying the 1000XM2 however I'm curious about the video sync on this. Have you guys tested if there is audio video lag on this? Thanks!

When using LDAC on my Galaxy S9+ there is no lag. Tested with some YouTube audio video sync tests.

Thanks! How about iphone X? That's my current device right now.

I do remember some latency on my old iPhone 8+. Don't have it anymore to test. I hated that phone.
