I've understood that as well.I’ve never heard I2S. I use AES/EBU. I do know that USB compared to AES/EBU Cees says that USB doesn’t sound as good.

Ditto for me. Would love to be able to read a review of it comparing the Morpheus to the new Pasitrhea .Has a pre-release review of the Pasithea been posted anywhere?
Well there is no end to it. Since you just got it so sit back and enjoy it and may be few years down the line if you have the urge then upgrade as Morpheus is as good as it gets at this price.I'm scared.
Scared because I've been in this audio game long enough to know that I, at some point, will reluctantly pull my wallet out and buy the damn thing.

Scared or scarred?I'm scared.

Lol! Now that I think about it, probably the latter.Scared or scarred?
I'm looking for a DDC that has a USB input and RJ45 output to go to the Morpheus.
I was initially thinking Denafrips but I'm open to others. There are some, from Denafrips, LKS (USB-100) or Singxer (SU-6)
Oh interesting I didn’t know this. How do you know if it’s not compatible? Will it flat out not work? No sound?Random DDC with I2S doesn’t mean that I2S will be compatible with Morpheus. You see I2S is not a standard for music so different manufacturer has different settings for I2S. Apart from Hermes/ Metrum DDC the other I know that works is Pi2AES but it will require some DIY
I THINK i2s via HDMI is compatible both ways but RJ45... the pins aren't necessarily the same. I would assume you have to contact the manufacturers of the units or a cable manufacturer could investigate for you if you choose to purchase a cable from them. Maybe Rob Fritz at Audio Art Cable might be able to lead you in the right direction.Oh interesting I didn’t know this. How do you know if it’s not compatible? Will it flat out not work? No sound?
Sonnet and Metrum have the same pin arrangement, best to my knowledge.I use Chord LAN cable, no no problem at all with Morpheus and Ambre.
