Sometimes ya just gotta' crank it to 11

The Cure - Disintegration: even the liner notes tell me to play it loud!

Ride - Nowhere: let the layers of feedback, effects, and echoes wash all over me.

Catherine Wheel - Ferment: ditto

Slowdive - Souvlaki: ditto again

Public Image Ltd - Metal Box/Second Edition: mmm... bassy!

Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction: RAWK!

Iron Maiden - Live After Death: "Scream for me Iron mates!"

New Order - 1981-1982 EP: rock instruments and electronics never sounded so good.

"couldn't you make it at ten as the loudest and turn it up to ten when you need it?"

"... but these go up to eleven!"

ooh definitely agree with Ride - Nowhere..
other albums:

Codiene - Frigid Stars LP .. the overflow of emotion only starts to get felt at 10 1/2

Bjork - Homogenic .. that deep deep bass intro of Hunter.. enough said..
Decal - Brightest Star (techno just doenst sound good till its so loud the neighbours are dancing).

IMO, Van Halen I is the ultimate "crank it to 11" album. The best song, without question, again Van Halen, is Panama!

11 = iggy and the stooges, raw power
12 = mc5, kick out the jams/the clash, the clash
13 = no contest....

Husker Du, Zen Arcade

whatever you want!!
whatever you do!!
wherever you go!!
whatever you say!!

I don't think there is a single album that makes me turn up the volume, but certain songs on certain albums.

Decoded Feedback Technophoby: "Euthanasia" and "Night's Calling"
KMFDM Nihil: "Brute"
Project Pitchfork Alpha Omega: "The Longing"
Covenant United States of Mind: "Helicopter"

That's all I can think of at the moment, although there's plenty more.

TOOL-'Prison Sex' & 'Sober' from 'Undertow'

I don't listen to these two very much but when I do, it's seems I always have to stop the track, increase the volume substatially, hit play and let 'er rip!

Hm as in giving away the title of a song that is not so well known and that means so much to you that you feel comfortable listening to it knowing that their ain`t that many others out there who do the same ?

Lol sorry if that is not correct but anyway I`d take a shot .

For me regarding the topic I would say :

- Prodigy " Fat of the land "

- Bjoerk - Bachelorette (---my fav tune by her , love it

- ALOT of different music from various soundtracks

No actaully i just didn't want to say the identity of the band in question although when they were on Late Night last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary it was great. They had the drummer from Cheap Trick but at the end of the song, large explosion, no more drummer....... It was great
