Good day folks I am from the Twin Island Country Trinidad and Tobago and it would seem as though half of this country is banned for some unknown reason.

I am currently having to resort to using a proxy server just to access this forum.
I tried emailing the admin but I have not gotten any response. From what I was told half of this country has been banned some years now from head fi.
There are 2 ISP one named FLOW and the other BLINK Broadband.

Only people on BLINK are banned and FLOW users can access the forum normal.
I bought my first ever Denon D2000 and was hoping to discuss it with head fi and have some taughts on if I need an AMP etc but its proving extremely difficult to use a proxy server simply to access this site. I have yet to know the reason for why this has happened.

Any help into contacting someone in charge will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you just haven't seen the demands to release your stockpile of angostura bitters?

Send a PM to jude. It will probably be helpful to include addresses used by the isp that is being blocked. It might not be head-fi - it might be someone upstream of head-fi, perhaps as a response to a spam problem. I know in my ISP days i once got sick and tired of wanadoo.fr ignoring spam complaints.

Likely there was a big issue with spam signups, possibly through insecure computers so the admins might have just IP-banned a swathe of IP addresses to rectify it. Consider that there are 10s of millions of people's computers that have been broken into and are being used in botnets to spread spam by various means, this kind of blanket ban is not uncommon. When I was an admin for a large forum, I banned registration from about 20 countries, which was effective in stopping spam on that particular forum.

We are a peaceful kind of people from the survey I have done half of Trinidad has been banned or that is half of the people using Blink Broadband ISP was banned. I simply cannot believe and or accept that peaceful people like us can be responsible for any spam unless it was a bit more serious like how some of you guys explained it.

I am surprised this ban has been implemented some years now, I know for sure there are spam bots in places like China and Russia but no way Trinidad. I am really sad this has happened I am hoping I can in some way contact the admin here and we can atleast be given another chance. If this was years ago maybe such a problem or the spammer has disappeared by now. Sometimes 15 year old kids can be a pain and I am guessing perhaps some mischievous 15 year old gave the admins here a hard time.

I cannot possibly think of another reason why this can be.

I am sure it was some stupid kid who was messing around cause he was on holidays out of school or something. I hate how one person can spoil something for everyone else.

I sent Jude a PM and I am hoping to get a response.
If I get ignored I will feel pretty bad but I must respect Jude's decision. Using this free proxy I get like a spam pop up window everytime I click a button. I probably have like 56 new firefox windows open right now. ALl filled with ads and spam.

I will be very happy when we can get unbanned and not have to resort to using proxy server to access this site.
