I love my Karma, but was sooo looking forward to the next generation.

. . . this whole Rio thing just doesn't make sense

The reports on Riovolution say that the new Sigmatel chip will be making
its way into players this year. Hopefully we'll have something by Q4 that
will be able to live up to the Rio legacy.

This is the one thing I'm waiting for in order to upgrade from my Karma.

Just finished reading that and I got the same feelings. The player was pretty damn ugly but seemed so perfect for music. Right now I'm using an iPod for portable stuff and Mp3s are alright I guess but I miss what my Karma used to offer. If only they were reliable I would have kept mine. Anyhow, here's to hopes that FLAC makes it into future portable players.
