im thinking about getting some of the new vibe duos. i sent them a message and they assured me that they are working on an adapter for the htc phones (i have a sprint mogul), but they never responded to my when they expect a release date.

anyways, i've read a bunch of reviews of the vibes (some people love them, some people dont), and im under the impression that the duos are the same headphones with an added mic and button on the right earphone wire, everything else should be pretty much the same, including sound quality?

also, how do these perform with exercise (primarily sweating)? i know the whole issue with IEMs and being able to hear movements on the cable, but how do they perform with sweat? does the microphone bouncing get annoying, or is it light enough that it's not bad. (i would probably be using it primarily with an ipod on an armband).

and lastly, do any of you recommend anything different? i would like something with a built in mic, im not a huge fan of bluetooth headsets and i would like to be able to use it with my phone. i also like that they are not completely isolating.

i currently use my old shure e2c's so any comparisons anybody can make to those would also be helpful.

thanks,
Ryan

well since i sell these at my job and i have used them before i'll be glad to give you some advice.

well the good thing about the duo aka nero, is that the cord is cloth instead of plastic. the sound quality is exactly the same as a regular vibe. the mic is very light and is hardly an inconvenience. the sound quality on phone calls is great.

you may have a big issue finding a headphone for a HTC phone. I have a HTC touch so i kno the headache that is finding a headphone with a usb port.

as for working out with them i wouldn't recommend it. the cord is too long to be used with an armband unless you have a place to wind that cord up. never had a problem or heard of any problems with sweat.

a headphone i would recommend for you is the klipse custom 2. they have a cloth wire as well, clip behind the ear for a more secure fit while working out, and have a better sound quality.

or you can get the Motorola S9 bluetooth stereo headset and kill two birds with one stone. motorola also has a bluetooth adaptor to use with your ipod as well.

hope this helps.

thanks for the quick response.

trust me, i know of this issue finding a decent set of headphones for the phone. there are adapters out there for regular headphones, but supposedly v-moda is working on an adapter for their headset, here is there exact response:

"We will be offering adapters in the very near future however, we do not have any available just yet. We are stoked that you are interested and we hope that you check our website for all the new stuff coming out!"

as for cord length, i would imageing that i would have a problem with the length of all cords coming from my arm to my head, i was under the impression that armbands would have a cable management system, or even just bunch up the wire under the ipod. i havent bought it yet, but this is what i was planning to get:
Apple Store (U.S.) - Incase Sports Armband for iPod classic (Black)

the klipsch are a bit out of my price range, but you do bring up a good point with the over the ear, im used to the shures where the cable goes over the head to offer more support, does this not really work with the v-modas? think they would be secure in the ear without the cable over the ear?

i rather not go bluetooth, it may sound stupid, but i dont really want to be walking around all the time with a bluetooth headset on, especially that bluetooth headset, kind of attracts attention. plus, it's just another battery to monitor.
