I have been taking a lot of pictures here, and I figured I would post a few to see what people think. The scans aren't great since I have had to resort to having a photo store do it (I miss my slide-scanner!), but I think you will get the idea.
My favorite first. Some split open fish drying in the local market.

Sorry for the giant size. The rest are at my website: http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~srichardson/

Thanks for taking a look. It is nice to be able to show them to some people at least....

Very Nice, What equipment are you using?

Thanks, I'm glad that you like them.
I am using a Canon New F1 (for most of these...also use a T90). New is probably now a misnomer, since it is 15 years old. Both are Canon FD manual focus cameras. The T90 is fully automated other than the lack of autofocus, while the F1 is fully manual other than the AE finder, but I mostly use the spot metering focusing screen, which is not conducive to AE. The lenses I use are a 24mm f2, a 50mm f/1.2L, an 85 mm f/1.2L and a 80-200mm f/4L with macro. Most of those shots were using Fuji velvia 50 or 100F (not out in the States) or Kodak 100vs. I actually prefer Kodachrome 64, but since k-14 processing uses mercury, it needs to go to a special kodak lab and takes a week or more to process. A pain here. Sorry if that was way more info than you asked for...

edit: unfortunately no autograph from Domo-kun...he was busy chasing cats...(think of the kittens...)

Hey stuartr are you still in Japan? I guess I missed that part.

I also just noticed that you now have a custom title. Congratulations!

Do you ever use filters? I am just beginning to learn that sometimes filters are good. I don't know much more than that.....yet.

Sweet pics. I don't have much experience with photography equipment but I'm trying to get started. What do you think of the 50mm f/1.4 EF USM?

Would you happen to know of some sites with lens reviews?

thanks!

Very nice shots stuartr. Are you still up north? Wondering if you were near that 6.1 and various aftershocks yesterday. Didn't feel anything down south of Yokohama here.
