Hello everyone,

I am still very confused, and I have a mass of combinations in my head and no clear path on what synergises well with what.
I was initially looking into Balanced SS options and DACS to use with my Desktop PC as source, to use with FLAC and other lossless formats.

From my research on Head-Fi it seems pretty obvious that most people are pro tubes. The cans I have chosen to use with whatever amp I decide on, will be Grado RS1 and Beyer DT 770 600ohms.

I was initially looking at the RSA Apache + Larvy DA10 or Headamp GS-X + Larvy DA10. This is a very expensive combination which is actually putting me off. Alltho I could go ahead and purchase this setup, I feel like I need to do alot more research before I spend that sort of cash. I am not sure if i need to spend this much on a setup. Depending on where my research takes me, I may end up getting a Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC as this also supports balanced and is alot cheaper than the Larvy DA10.

From the amount of posts that I have read about Grados and Tubes, I have started researching into balanced tube amps as it seems that Grado + Tubes has great synergy, as well as Beyer cans having nice results with tubes. I am finding balanced tubes harder to research than balanced SS amps, this does seem a bit odd heh.

My plans are to connect balanced acitve monitors (xlr) to whatever balanced Amp I end up deciding on, so that I could control my active monitors through the headphone amp via the volume knob.

So far I have been looking at the Little Dot MK VI+
This Amp is well within my price range. What would one say about this tube amp for my situation? Would it work well with Grado RS1 and Beyer 770 600ohms? If connecting Active Monitors to the Little Dot MK VI+ how would I select between headphones and my Active monitors? The selecting issue is something I am still confused on. The RSA Apache for example seems to have a selector option built into the amp.

Thanks =]
