I'm looking for headphone which covers the whole ear, "around-the-ear", which I thought was called "over-the-ear" headphones, because I think its more comfortable and seems to help isolating the external noise. I have never used a good headphone, my headphone now, which is a headset, is a Microsoft LX-3000, and the pads are not comfortable and don't cover my ears and my friend suggested the AKG K99, which says in the discription that is a "over-the-ear", but the holes in the pads are the same size of my LX-3000. Sometimes I see the categories like "full-sized" and "over-the-ear" together, I suppose that a full size headphone would be the one which overs the whole ears, instead of stay on it.
 
Can anyone help me with this concepts?
 
Other thing is, the AKG K99 would cost me like, US$ 90, and phones listed, like, the KOSS PRO 100 DJ and the JVC HA-RX900 would be like US$160. The Superlux HD 681 would cost US$ 75, and it's what we have in my country's market (Brazil

).
 
Based in Amazon formula's to our price: "(PRICE+10)*2,40*2" I'd be paying US$ 270 for ATH-M50.

You should look into getting some Beyerdynamic DT990, DT880, or DT770s. Hopefully they won't be overly costly to you. IMO the DT990 sounds the best of the 3 (they all have the same drivers, just in different cups (open, semi-open, and closed)) and it is also the cheapest. I'm assuming it's because there are less materials used in the cups than in the other 2.

They're too expensive for me. I wanted something under US$ 100 but seems hard to find something that covers the whole ear for that price.

You can get some Monoprice 8323 headphones. They're great for the price and really cheap (about $25 USD), and good for first time modders if you wanna experiment with that.

Yeah I'll go +1 on the monoprice cans. I had a pair of Kicker HP541s that are literally the samehheadphones with differentbbranding and they are a great budget can. I bought my pair for $50 way back when, so I you can get them cheaper that's a big win. 
 
You should also check out the Sony MDR-7506 or V6 headphones. They're better sounding than the M50, IMO and almost half the price.

He's looking for something in the $100 USD range or below. He says if he got the M50 it would come out to about $270 after taxes, import fees, etc. Maybe something from the UE series would work, like the UE 4000/6000/9000

Sorry I didn't notice the last sentence about the price of M50. I just remember there was a big discount of them several weeks ago.
