I was listening to the radio and a soulful hip-hop track came on that was too funky to ignore. Problem is, is that it was Japanese radio, and while my Japanese is good, it can't keep up with DJs on speed (plus I was driving). In anycase, if anyone can help me out that would be great. I love funky funky hip-hop.

The track's main refain was "Everyday people" it had both a female and male MC. Toward the end of the track there was a sax breakdown and sometype of African chanting. Much appreciated! thx.

Possibly Arrested Development? check the album 3 Years, 5 Months, 2 Days in the Life Of (or some combination of years, months days ... )

But it's like 10 years old. Don't know how much play it gets these days. Maybe Jp is more hip than any station stateside!

indeed, it's Arrested Development - 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of... - 03 - People Everyday

btw, Tennessee and Mr. Wendel were quite popular songs from them

Thank you thank you thank you.

Japanese radio stations can be amazingly eclectic; playing track after track of mind-numbing Japanese bubblegum pop and then dropping out of no where some of the slickest afro-cuban beats ever, for example.
