ZMF Verite Pheasantwood Limited Edition

Mint condition, one week old, original owner, burned in for 120 hours. Comes with mahogany case, Universe and Verite pads, 6.3mm stock cable, certificate.

Selling because in the two months since pre-ordering, my system has gotten dialed-in in such a way that makes a new addition less essential for me. That, and it turns out I prefer a more forward sound signature.

Yours for $2150 flat, I will cover Paypal and insured shipping. CONUS only, thanks.

Can you compare the SQ of these to either of the other two you currently have? I used to own the Utopia and found them a little dry and analytical (compared to, say, the Abyss).

Both the Utopia and Susvara have a pretty neutral tonality (especially the Utopia). The Verite, by contrast, has a more colored, warmer character. The Verite also lays off the highs more than the other two.

Utopia detail retrieval is best in class. I feel the same way about the Susvara. The Verite is also very good and very fast, and is at least in the same playing field, but is more like "5th row" (IMO) as opposed to "1st row", which may impact my subjective impression of resolving-ness (The flat pads with the Verite do give it a somewhat more forward character than the angled pads).

As I wrote above, I thought I'd give the Verite a try but ultimately like the more neutral and forward character of my current headphones too much to adjust to the Verite's admittedly interesting presentation.

Hope that helps. And also,
