These teak Auteurs sound really musical with a warm bass response, and has really lovely, enveloping soundstage. Depth is really nice and natural. The way these headphone do soundstage and imaging is probably my favorite of my collection.

I'm selling because I recently got a blackwood pair of Auteurs (which has its own, slightly different strengths), and I really would love to keep them both, but my conscience compels me to keep just one. :)

Near-perfect condition, manufactured 2/21/2018.

Comes with all the original materials -- case, alternate pads, your choice of stock XLR or 6.3mm cable, certificate.

Price includes Paypal and UPS insured shipping.

How many hours would you say are on these?

Since I'm not the original owner, I don't know. I got them used from another head-fi'er about a month ago. I only put about 100 hours on them myself, but I would assume several hundred hours.

Very nice photos & presentation.
I've owned the Teak and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how lightweight & comfortable they are for wooden cups.

The grains of the cups go in different directions. Is this intentional?
My assumption is that it's within a range of variance that's acceptable to the designer.

I'm looking at the teak Auteurs physically now, and with the cups rotated properly for the head, I can confirm that the grain directions are different by about 45 degrees in practice.

As a point of comparison, looking at my blackwood Auteurs, the grain directions between the two cups are different by about 60 degrees...

If one is a bit OCD about wood grain alignment, then hand-crafted bespoke headphones in general may be the wrong sort of product to pursue...

Most I’ve seen and the Ori I own go in the same direction. In fact you can even request it from Zach just to be sure you’re getting what you want

I think you're right llama - I'm betting they are well w/in spec. The ash ones that just sold here appear to have their cathedral grain 180 degrees different (i.e. one side pointing front, the other back)

wish I had the dough for these right now - BEAUTIFUL

They're out for audition at a friend's home. I'll be getting them back (or selling to them) this coming weekend. I'll update the thread either way. Thanks!
