The Bel Canto uLink is one of the best USB converters out there, especially among the units that do not need a separate power supply.
 
Supports sampling rates up to 192kHz.
The uLink has a standard USB Type-B input and its main output is S/PDIF.
That output takes a BNC connector for the digital cable, the best kind of connector.
And also included is an adapter so you can use a cable with an RCA connector.
In addition, of special interest for Bel Canto fans, the uLink has a ST Fiber output as well.
