Although I loved my RF-7 towers I legitimized the sale in my head since the remaining sub, center and rear were mismatched. Although they were RF series they were the weak links in the system.

So I’ve ordered Aperion 633-T towers, 634-VAC center and 534-SS surrounds. I’m torn between the SVS PB12-NSD sub and the HSU VTF-3 MK3 sub.

I’m very anxious to get everything and hear how it sounds and my bro is happy with my old rig… I hope I don’t end up wanting it back!

I had a Hsu VTF-2 and loved it. SVS and Hsu are certainly on my short list. You may want to contact craigsub at avsforum since he does a lot of subwoofer reviews.

I don't know if it's only around here, but one can find great deals on 5 channel amps at Pawn shops; like they don't know what the heck to do with them. Keep the receiver for a Pre, and it's a great cheap upgrade.

I love shiny black speakers. Out of curiosity, why did you decide to go with Aperion?

Based on what I've read about them and several others they seemed the most appealing for my tastes in warm presentations without losing the detail. I also like that the surrounds can be switched in or out of phase which is nice going from movies to music. Also the center speaker has a switch for cabinet placement which is where mine will be. All in all I've based my decision off what I've read at a variety of places and feel confident that if they are not for me I've lost $0.00 since Aperion pays shipping and will pay for the return shipping w/in 30 days if I'm not happy.

I was impressed with some NHT stuff at Andersons and I also had Axiom on my list but the Aperion seemed the best fit for my tastes and best bang for buck... we'll see if that's the case by next week.
